HC-12a® and HC-22a® are hydrocarbon refrigerant blends that were developed to be an effective replacement for CFC, HCFC and HFC refrgerants and all other substitutes for R-12, R-22 and R-502. HC-12a® & HC-22a® have  zero ozone-depleting-potential (ODP) and a negligible global-warming-potential (GWP), making them the most environmentally sound refrigerants on earth.

No, HC-12a® and HC-22a® are near drop-in replacement. You must be aware of the flammable properties of these refrigerants and safe-guard systems accordingly. They are completely compatible with all the materials and oils (organic or synthetic) in all systems. (The savings can be enormous!)

Yes. HC-12a® and HC-12a® are organic, non-ozone-depleting, earth-friendly compounds. As a hydrocarbon blend, like most organic materials HC-12a® and HC-22a® are flammable. To further enhance safety, a strong odour has been added to the product so that any leak in a system can be readily detected.

HC-12a® and HC-22a® are available in cylinders containing 22.8 pounds of refrigerant which is equivalent to 57 pounds of R12 or 46 pounds of R-134a, R-22 and R502.

Extremely. Customer after customer has reported up to 30% more efficiency than HFC-134a and other CFC-12 substitutes when using HC-12a®. Similar results can be achieved when replacing R-22, R502 and their substitutes with HC-22a®. This means less wear on your refrigeration system, substantial energy savings, and reduced fuel and energy costs.

The same gauges are used, and refrigeration systems are charged in the same manner as with the refrigerant being replaced. Training is available through HC-Tech Inc. 

The hydrocarbon refrigerants industry in Canada is unregulated; there is no mandatory certification or training of technicians interested in working with hydrocarbon refrigerants.
All persons who purchase these products from us for distribution or end-use must first successfully pass our training program.

HC-12a® and HC-22a® are guaranteed to perform as efficient refrigerants in all refrigeration systems, and not to harm refrigeration system components or any other related mechanical equipment if installed and used according to factory directions. HC-12a® and HC-22a® should not be recycled. Recycling will void the guarantee.
